She grew up on a farm in Bewcastle in Cumbria and spent many a long hour admiring her granny Aurea's hat collection. Aurea Telford wore a hat nearly every day of her life and sparked a passion in Marie which took her down the path to becoming a milliner. Marie trained in Birmingham and established her business in Lockerbie in south west Scotland in 2004, creating elegant, bespoke hats for all occasions.
She loves nothing better than sitting down with clients and discussing and designing the perfect hat, headpiece or fascinator. For brides, Marie can design a stunning headpiece to complement the dress. Someone who doesn't think they suit hats or is nervous about wearing one is the perfect customer for Marie!
