If your car is over three years old, then you are required to run the MOT test yearly. The purpose of this test is to assess the legality, vehicle safety and exhaust emissions of your car.

During the MOT check, our testers inspect a specific list of aspects of your vehicle: lamps, reflectors and electrical equipment, steering and suspension, brakes, tyres and road wheels, seat belts and restraint systems, body, structure and general items, exhaust, fuel and emissions and driver's view of the road.

Manufacturers recommend that air conditioning systems are serviced with gas and lubricant every two years to keep them working efficiently and cost effectively. This is important as air conditioning gas escapes from the system every year making it much less efficient.

Look after your air conditioning as you would the rest of your vehicle, because a fully recharged system will put less strain on the engine and as a result help to reduce your fuel consumption.This is not part of routine servicing, so if your vehicle is more than 2 years old, it is due a recharge and re-gas.
