Derwent Dental Care
Following the news that there will be a national lock-down starting on Thursday, I am delighted to announce that dental practices are able to continue to provide face-to-face appointments. This news comes as a great relief because our experiences during the first lock-down confirmed that antibiotics, analgesia and advice can be ineffective for acute dental problems.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the team over the past 5 months, Derwent Dental Care has been providing a safe, effective and comprehensive service for which we have received fantastic feedback from our patients. The practice has continually reviewed and adapted its operating procedures and I am therefore confident that we can continue to provide our normal level of care throughout the next few difficult weeks.
Services
There are nine principles that all General Dental Council registrants must adhere to at all times:. Make sure your personal behaviour maintains patients' confidence in you and the dental profession. All staff members are committed to participating in Continued Professional Development as required by the General Dental Council, allowing the practice to maintain its high level of care.
The team is highly trained, allowing them to provide you with an excellent standard of clinical dentistry. Our preventive ethos means that we will advise you how to reduce the need for invasive dental treatment. If we find that you have a problem, which requires intervention, we will discuss the benefits of each available treatment so you can make an informed decision as to which is the right option for your particular needs.
The practice offers an out-of-hours emergency service for its registered patients as part of a rota with other private dentists in West Cumbria. This service is available: Monday - Friday 6.00pm to 9.00pm & Weekends and Bank Holidays - 9.00am to 9.00pm. Please call the practice on 01900 824111 and follow the instructions to contact the on call dentist.

€˜I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Michael King for giving me excellent emergency advice last week over the telephone. He reassured me given the limited options available due to the Covid 19 pandemic. I have now had my tooth taken out at the hospital and am pain free. Thank you
