Peebles Dental Practice
Layna joined the team in 2015 enabling us to expand the range of dental hygiene treatments we offer. She currently works on a Tuesday. Fiona qualified as a dental nurse in 1995 and has been with the practice since 2009. She is usually found on reception and will be your first contact when you phone or visit the practice.

Outwith work Fiona enjoys doing yoga to relax and going to football matches with her dad. Zoe also joined the practice in 2009 after studying dental nursing at Telford College Edinburgh the previous year. She mainly assists the dentists with the treatment, working chair side in the surgery. Out of surgery Zoe enjoys socialising with friends, listening to music and walking in the local area.
Services
Among the services we provide are: routine examinations including cancer screening, hygiene and preventative advice; treatment of gum disease; routine restorations; crowns, bridges and veneers; dentures and teeth whitening. We use state-of-the-art technology and equipment, which for instance allows us to send you appointment reminders as a text message on your mobile or as an email.
To make an appointment, please phone or email reception (details above) or visit the practice during opening hours. Routine recall appointments are usually arranged at the end of your last visit and if you wish we can send you a text message or email reminder a few days before your next appointment is due.
Although Peebles Dental Practice is a NHS committed dental practice we also offer aesthetic private dental treatment at affordable prices. The range of aesthetic private treatments we offer includes tooth coloured fillings, veneers, white metal-free crowns and bridges, cosmetic dentures and tooth whitening.
A bridge is a fixed replacement for a missing tooth or teeth. It's made by taking an impression of the surrounding teeth, which will eventually support the bridge. A bridge is usually made of metal and porcelain (but metal free options are also available) and will be fixed in your mouth; unlike dentures, which can be removed.
More commonly known as false teeth, dentures are fitted in place of natural teeth. A full denture is used to replace all your teeth. A partial denture is used to replace just some missing teeth. Dentures are custom-made using impressions (mould) from your gums. They are usually made from metal or plastic.

Sue McNeil , we were introduced to a number of years ago when she was a practitioner at a dental practice in Penicuik. She went on to set up her own practice in Roslin and after a successful period as team leader decided to sell up and move to Peebles. Such a lovely and easy going lady. Perfect personality for being a dentist. Puts you at ease the moment you meet her. Suggest you get down there and enjoy the experience.
