On the back of carpet samples provided by manufacturers is a notice regarding carpet shading. We are occasionally asked about shading by our customers and respectfully point out that all cut pile carpets, irrespective of quality and price can be subject to a shading effect. This is not a manufacturing defect but is due to differing degrees of light reflection caused by unequal crushing of the pile during use.
