The vast majority of firms have asked candidates inappropriate and potentially illegal questions during job interviews, according to new research from Hyper Recruitment Solutions (HRS). The researchers found that 85% of interviewers have asked questions such as 'Have you got any plans to start a family?' (42%)' 'Did you grow up outside of the UK?' (45%) or 'Are you physically fit and healthy?' (53%).
A survey commissioned by Eploy, in association with HR & Recruitment Grapevine, will again look to understand how candidates are sourced by sector and which sourcing channels are most successful in generating the right quantity and quality of candidates. The UK Candidate Attraction Survey 2018, now in its third year, will survey UK recruiters from both in-house and agency across various industries, sectors and size of organisation.

Just had a discussion with this company about a short term contract. We all have skills and time that we value and we set a price on. To receive patronizing comments from their managing director trying to tell me whether a pay lower than you would get from tescos for a short term contract is more than deserving, was extremely offensive. Did not appreciate the manner she spoke to me and I am please I chose not to go ahead with this agency. Hanging up the phone on me without giving me a chance to explain my point was also not the service you expect from a recruiter. These guys really do not cover

After a tough search and trying to find a position in quite a competitive field!
