In the UK pearls are associated with bland necklaces of fake pearls worn by your grandmother on special occassions. I started making spinning rings nearly ten years ago and I always struggle to keep them in stock. I love autumn, the smells, colours and that melancholy feeling that reminds us nature will be back after a short break.

This collection is my most popular set of jewellery and is based on the animals, birds and wildflowers that live around my Highland home, the area is sparsly populated by humans so nature has its chance to thrive. Many migratory birds use the sea loch next to my home and the visitors change with the seasons.
I collect leaves and use them as templates to make this collection of jewellery. I stick the leaf on to sheet silver and hand-cut around it. Each leaf can only be used once making every piece of jewellery a one of a kind. After the leaf is cut out, I hammer the texture on them and then solder the vein down the middle.
This is a 2 hours session that introduces you to the basics of silver-smithing. You will make a small item of jewellery which teaches you techniques for marking and measuring, piercing, filing, forming, soldering, texturing and polishing. You can choose to make a ring, earrings or a pendant. The cost of the class is 45.00 and that includes the silver needed for a basic item.
