Services
At Barbour Dental Care, our skilled, experienced clinical team offers a full range of preventive, restorative and cosmetic dental treatment in a warm, relaxing environment. Our surgery is a beautiful, modern space where you can relax and allow us to care for your teeth in comfort. If you are a new or existing patient and you have a question about our services and what we can do to help, we would love to hear from you.
If you are missing teeth, you will know that it can have a big impact on your quality of life, often affecting your confidence, making you self-conscious and reluctant to smile, and causing difficulties in enjoying certain foods that require a full set of functioning teeth, like steak or corn on the cob.
Good oral hygiene and a regular tooth cleaning routine are the best foundation to maintaining healthy teeth and gums. However, even in the most diligently cleaned mouth, teeth will naturally discolour over time, especially if you regularly drink coffee, tea or red wine which gradually stain the enamel.
Periodontics is the area of dentistry that looks after the gums and supporting structures around the teeth. At Barbour Dental we offer prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease from mild gingivitis to more severe periodontitis.
Our mouths are full of bacteria which constantly form 'plaque', a sticky, colourless substance which, if left on the teeth, can cause enamel decay and harden to form tartar. Tartar cannot be removed by brushing alone, but needs to be treated by a dentist or a dental hygienist.

Restorative dentistry is about restoring the teeth and oral cavity after any disease or structural loss so that they can function as they are meant to and also look the way you'd like them to.
Here at Barbour Dental Care, we can provide a full range of restorative treatments and it starts with a consultation with one of our experienced dentists to discuss your requirements and diagnose any problems you might be experiencing with your teeth or gums. After diagnosis, we will draw up a treatment plan, which will include all the restorative procedures that you may need, including different options for tooth replacement.

Having used this dentists for many years now, I have always been pleased with the care I have received.
Their skill, care and professionalism was highlighted today when my 4 year old had an accident and damaged her mouth. They went out their way to help her and provided exceptional care in a very challenging situation.

I have been with Barbour Dental Care for 30 years, I also introduced my husband plus my children joined the practice from birth. We have all had exceptional dental care and great advice over the years from very experienced dentists, in particular Ian and Joan Barbour. The practice has grown and that is down to its popularity and reputation and no doubt friends recommending friends to join. The service however remains the same - Excellent! The reception staff are helpful and friendly and the dental nurses are really professional. Its easy to give this practice a 5 star rating and I look forward

Total dump! Very nice inside but a certain lady dentist was rude, aggressive and I felt only cared for my money! Very educated to coming over well but if you look in her eyes she clearly on my opinion cares nothing for others! I feel a lifetime trying to be a person will not help!! Don't go here as much better places close !! Yuk

Best dentist I've ever had, and I had many before Mr Barbour was recommended to me. He's been our dentist for the whole family for pushing 20 years since then. When my son was young he had an over-developed gag reflex, which made dentists particularly tricky for him, but Ian took the time and care necessary to treat him, and trips to the dentist ceased to be traumatic. Over the years I have had an unfair share of dental problems myself, but I have always been very happy with the advice and options I have been given, the treatment received, and the outcome.

Friendly professional service. Ian and Joan take have cared for and advised me on my teeth for 30 years. My oral health improved markedly when I first went to them, and has remained good. I particularly like the time they take to explain and educate me on the dental care issues and good practice. I recommend to anyone looking for excellent dental care.

Excellent dental surgery, always a personable service and very competent every time I go. Had a chipped tooth and some stains which were completely remedied within 20 minutes last time I went. Dr Barbour has been my dentist for over 20 years and I have always found the surgery to be of the highest standard.
