A religious funeral service is held usually in a church or chapel, usually by an ordained priest or vicar, suitably attired mourners, hymns, eulogy and committal before interment in the churchyard or the family driven with the coffin to a crematorium. The ritual has changed little over the centuries.
A Minister, Reverend, Lay Preacher & Priest have been ordained by their church and the service will follow a clear plan. The main focus is around religion from earth to heaven as the service starts by the coffin, greeting the mourners, opening Prayers, Homily, Readings, Sermon, to remembering the one who has died, the Commendation, Committal and Farewell all the while asking for God's comfort and then committing your loved one into God's care.
Think about the personality and tastes of your loved one, think about if a plain or decorative coffin would be in keeping with them, did they have a favourite colour, did they prefer light, medium or dark wood looks. Coffins are available these days to reflect any imaginable personal preference, just tell us and we can find a design to suit your requirements.
