Services
We will provide an estimate of costs at the outset and submit regular interim invoices so that clients are fully aware of the costs incurred. Anyone wishing to proceed with a claim should note that interest and compensation may take the debt into a higher banding, with a higher cost.
Simple debt recovery matters usually take 1-8 weeks from receipt of instructions from you to receipt of payment from the other side, depending on whether it is necessary to issue a claim. This is on the basis that the other side pays promptly on receipt of Judgement in default. If enforcement action is needed, the matter will take longer to resolve.

There will be an additional charge for attending a Tribunal Hearing of 800 per day (excluding VAT). Generally, we would allow 1-2 days depending on the complexity of your case. Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as court fees. We handle the payment of the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process.
Probate is the process of dealing with the estate of someone who has died - which generally means clearing their debts and distributing their assets in accordance with their will. The term 'probate' refers to the obtaining of permission to deal with the estate.

I couldn't recommend Merritt & Co enough. Claire Stamp has been the conveyancer for the purchase of my first home and has been 100% professional along the way. We ran into some issues due to no fault of mine or this solicitors and they did a brilliant job of keeping me informed and reassured throughout. Quick and effective service.

Claire Stamp has been excellent! I'm an estate agent and it is always really refreshing to work with a solicitor who is extremely responsive and keeps me in the loop with how things are going. It is extremely difficult working with solicitors that do not provide us, as an agent, any ideas on how things are progressing but Claire has been fantastic. Given the pressures of covid this year and how busy the housing market has been, Claire is doing a brilliant job!

I discovered this gem of a solicitors when buying a flat recently.
Claire was brilliant and gave great professional advice. I felt I could
discuss all aspects of the purchase, no matter how trivial the enquiry, as Claire was so knowledgeable and patient.
Phone calls and emails were always replied swiftly, indeed everyone I spoke to were really friendly and efficient.
If you want a great value, great quality solicitor then look no further than
