Services
DentalPlus was originally formed over 25 years ago with only one dental surgery and one dentist, we soon expanded to two surgeries. In 2005 Tracie Gearie BDS bought over the business. As patient numbers increased, we undertook an ambitious plan to build a new practice with a view to providing a high standard of patient care in state of the art surroundings.
Providing urgent dental care at this next phase means the range of treatment we can provide is restricted. If you are a patient at Dentalplus, you will already be aware that we have always carried out stringent infection control procedures, so you may not notice too much of a difference in the way we work.
Bridges are ideal for people who don't like dentures and only have one or two teeth missing. Bridges are usually made by crowning the teeth on either side of the gap and attaching a false tooth in the middle. They are fixed in the same way as crowns. These bridges are usually made of precious metal bonded to porcelain.
Crowns are an ideal way to rebuild teeth which have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling. The crown fits right over the remaining part of the tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape and contour of a natural tooth. Crowns are sometimes also known as 'caps'. Patient B above, had old fashioned metal based crowns and was not happy with them as he felt they made him look old.
Dental Examinations are carried out every 6 months, at which, your dentist checks the lining of your mouth, teeth and the health of your gums. Following your examination, your dentist will make you aware of any potential treatment required. They will also discuss your options with you at the end of the appointment, thus allowing you to make an informed decision.
