Our prison law team support prisoners and their loved ones through the parole process ensuring the rights of prisoners while in custody. We understand that the breakdown of a relationship or relations within a family can cause a huge amount of pain and stress for those concerned. Most parents would agree that the happiness and well being of their child/children is the most important thing in their lives.

The Court of Protection safeguards the finances and welfare of those who do not have the mental capacity to do so themselves. We serve clients both local to our four offices and from further afield, specialising in cases concerned with Criminal Law, Mental Health Law and Family Law.
Services
Albin and Co was set up by Chris Albin, a former partner of Griffiths Robertson, in 2007. From that time it has gone from strength to strength. In 2013 Albin and Co became a Limited company. This enabled the acquisition of Boyd Carter Solicitors & Mediators, and merger of Dexter Port Solicitors. We pride ourselves on our integrity, high standards of advocacy and our reputation for professionalism and expertise.

If you are arrested you will usually be taken to the police station and kept in custody until released or charged with a crime. While you are detained in the police station you have the right to free legal advice (legal aid) from the duty solicitor or a solicitor of your choice.
The police may ask you to attend as they have received complaint or an allegation that they wish to investigate and believe you may be involved. You may get a knock at the door, a phone message or a card asking you to contact the police station and arrange a time to come in for an interview.

A Voluntary Police Interview that takes place at the police station, or in some circumstances in your home, will be under caution and anything you say may be used in evidence.A Voluntary Police Interview is conducted in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in Court.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality
I work as a door supervisor and in the security industry and I recommend Alice Dodd from Albin and Co Solicitors. As a company, they are professional and brilliant at communicating and Alice is approachable and plain speaking. No jargon or over complicated speeches.

Sally Wood (Family Law), Sally has a friendly manner that puts you at ease straight away. From day one Sally helped and advised me which way to go and how to deal with issues as they arose. Sally was so very professional and her knowledge of her specialist field was amazing . This resulted in me achieving a very satisfactory result.

I can't thank Sally Wood enough for all her help and hard work over the last couple of years with my divorce. Sally, from the very beginning has listened, digested and advised in a professional manor to enable me to make the best decisions going forward. At no point did I feel alone in the process, Sally was always an email or call away explaining everything both legally and stripping out any legal jargon so I could understand and make a rational decision. A divorce isn't an easy thing to go through, with many ups and downs, but with Sally behind me I was able to make the right decisions for me

I highly recommend Nicola Gordelier for sensitive cases especially ones that involve the death of a loved one. I found her extremely professional, friendly and compassionate and she greatly helped me get the results I wanted.

Wow, what can I say? A guiding light when I really felt I'd lost all hope. Paul Cantrill truly is a credit to his service. An honest, hardworking and professional solicitor. He was there for me not only throughout my case but also at the court, mentally and emotionally. I cannot thank Paul enough, apart from a Cadbury box of chocolates! I could not thank Paul enough. Thank you so much!

Made the process of the judicial system a lot more comfortable to deal with. I am satisfied with the result I achieved at the end of my case and I'm sure it would be a different story if I didn't have the assistance of the Albin & Co team. Thank you.

However I have to a huge thanks to Sally Wood who dealt with my divorce petition. Some serious appraisal and commendation for her professional approach and personal involvement with my case. Very friendly, superb dedication and just an overall top women in her field. Would highly recommend Albin and Co Solicitors.
Not to mention a wee thanks to Chris Albin for his involvement too in being there for us when needed.

I've been a client for years, called for a contact number and was promised a call back, didn't get it. Apart from that they're good, but you have to know your stuff and be firm with them to pursue what you want.
