Services
There is more choice now than ever before in many of the difficult decisions we have to make throughout our lives. Nowadays, the choices we make for our loved ones' funeral service is no different.

Whilst for many, the traditional approach to funerals comprising of a church service or service at the local crematorium or cemetery chapel led by a priest, minister, humanist or independent celebrant and using a traditional style of coffin will always be the only way there are others who want something a little different. For instance, we can supply coffins made from Wicker, Willow, Bamboo, Wool or Cardboard to name just a few.
In addition to our beautiful chapel room at Brook Street, we are now pleased to be able to provide our beautifully peaceful 'Lismore Chapel'. Set in the grounds of the former Newman School in the city centre, our private Lismore Chapel facilities opened in the summer of 2021 for the exclusive use of our client families and the quiet repose of their loved ones.
Golden Charter are a trusted name when it comes to funeral planning and are affiliated with the Funeral Planning Authority (FPA). A little thought now can give you and your loved ones peace of mind for the future both in terms of your wishes being recorded and the financial burden lifted from your family at the time the plan is at need.
As a youngster, due to a family bereavement, Sean decided at the tender age of twelve years old that a life in service to the bereaved families and their loved ones of Carlisle was what he would dedicate his life to. Sean spent time on the works experience scheme from North Cumbria Technology College, known colloquially as 'Harraby Secondary', whilst aged fifteen years old at two different funeral directing firms in the city.
Sean was a great help when we unfortunately had to organise a funeral for our baby boy, so lovely to come across someone who genuinely cares about the service they're providing. My family went on to have Sean lead my uncle's funeral and will most certainly use him again when required. Sean has looked after our arrangements twice now and is absolutely brilliant.

My husbands funeral was handled with great care and sensibility. It was a woodland burial with a wicker coffin and everything was flawless. I can't recommend him more highly. 10 out of 10.
