Services
Our lovely old house retains the high ceilings and cornices of the Victorian family home it once was. From the elegant front lounge our residents keep an eye on all the comings and goings in the hall, while the quieter back lounge with its conservatory provides a sunny haven of peace, ideal for scrabble or crosswords or knitting.
At Southside Nursing Home, we aim to provide the highest quality of care, so that each resident achieves the best possible quality of life. We provide a secure and caring environment which supports all aspects of our residents' lives, while leaving them free to make their own choices about activities and life style so far as possible.
Our staff are skilled in assessing each resident's unique eating, drinking and dietary requirements and these are carefully monitored in accordance with the National Care Standards for Eating Well. Training in modified texture diets is delivered by NHS Highland and advice sought where necessary from the Speech and Language Therapists.
The Home is situated well back from Southside Road in a quiet residential area of Inverness. There are large mature gardens to the front and back for our residents to enjoy. The front garden and car park are surrounded with grand old trees and the shrubbery and borders are full of colour. The back garden has a large lawn, bordered with shrubs and there is a patio area and gazebo for sitting out.
Southside Nursing Home is a member of the HSCN and in 2015, a video was created in conjunction with Eden Court Theatre starring one of our residents! The video was based on a poem entitled 'Crabbit Old Woman'/'Look Closer'/'What Do You See?' by Phyllis McCormack. Her care home is just around the corner from our home.
