When I collect my son in the evening, he is always smiling. We are so happy with Mallards that even though we have now moved out of the area we still take him to Mallards. Very welcoming atmosphere. Extremely friendly, happy, caring, loving staff. Management always answered my questions on time. Cleanliness is outstanding including the kitchen.
Food made on-site very healthy. Teaching and learning absolutely fantastic. In-fact I have learnt some more ways of disciplining my toddler from the nursery staff. The way they interact with the babies and toddlers is, to me, a way I can learn from them.

Services
At Mallards Wood we strive to continually improve the high quality childcare that we provide; ensuring that the Nursery is a safe, caring, and above all fun environment in which to be. To treat each child as the individual that they are, developing a care plan that caters and addresses their individual needs and requirements;.
Founded in 2002, our flexible and affordable childcare provision in the heart of Woodford offers full and part-time daycare for children from 3 months to 5 years. We believe in building children's confidence from a young age through fun learning activities and play. Our friendly childcare staff would love to give you a tour of our facilities, so why not book a visit?
I have been working in childcare services for over 20 years and I am currently the Owner Director and Manager of Mallards Wood. As Manager, I am responsible for managing and supporting my team and ensuring that the environment within the Nursery is a safe, caring, and nurturing one, but above all, it is a place where the children can learn and develop.
All children are individuals, and learn in very different ways, but one thing we do know is that all children learn by having fun. Engaging your child in everyday activities, as you go about your often busy and all too often hectic day, helps them get used to everyday noises, learn about their environment and grow more confident.
Now your child has found their feet, they love nothing more than to explore their surroundings. These activities will help your child as they become increasingly more inquisitive. This activity is great fun, and if done outside, it certainly encourages them to explore their surroundings. As well as exploring children love experiencing things that feel different; and if they can get messy in the process they love this even more.

I have two children at Mallards Wood. The nursery has a real family feel due to the intimate setting & the staff, who are always extremely friendly, approachable & enthusiastic. You can tell they really care about the children from the way they engage with them, but also the way in which my children respond to & talk about the staff, who they have both formed strong bonds with.
The activities are diverse, creative & engaging, whilst also helping with the children’s learning &development. Any issues we have had have always been dealt with swiftly & professionally. Meals

This is one of the most expensive nurseries I have sent my daughter to. One would think with the price tag comes excellent treatment, communication and education. It was the complete opposite. They treated my daughter very poorly, said things like ‘she cannot read or write her name’ in front of her, which is not true. Put her in the baby room to eat lunch to teach her a lesson after acting like normal 3 year olds can do some times. When I asked her keyworker for feedback about her day at pick up times the response was ‘she’s old enough to give you the feedback herself’. I was assured

I recommend the day to day care of the babies, toddlers and preschoolers because as both a parent and a staff member I can see how professional and well trained the staff at Mallards Wood Daycare is. The nursery and its management are organised, they provide structure and communicate really well with both their parents & staff. The emphasis is always on the well-being of the children and how they can improve further. I find that the quality of childcare given to every child is of really high standards and I thank all the staff for providing quality childcare to our children.

Can not rate this place highly enough my DS attented here from 9 months old up until reception class in the local primary school. He was always happy to leave us to go and had a great relationship with his keyworker Nadia. The choice of food is varied and nutritious. The nursery and pre school environment more than met his needs. The management couldn't do enough to support his pre school journey. I am expecting again and this little one will definitely be attending mallards.

As a parent whose child recently attended the Daycare 4 days a week, it is fair to say I have a fairly good insight into Mallards Wood Daycare.
I give 4 out of 5 stars because nothing is perfect. However, this Daycare has been of true benefit to me and my family.
Initially, I was one of those parents too afraid to talk much to the staff if I had any questions or concerns, afraid they would dismiss me as a fussy mum. Members of staff consistently made the effort to talk with me about my child's day, what she had enjoyed, what they had observed etc and I became more involved with staff and familiar

I'm really surprised to read what the previous reviewer as written as I don't recognise any of the things she has written in my experience of Mallards Woods. It would be interesting to know whether her experience is as a parent or staff.
Anyway back to my review - I am currently a parent of an almost 3 year old who has been at Mallards Wood since she was 9 months old and I have found Mallards Wood to be very good! Right from the start of her settling in period till now, I found the staff very engaging and really good at keeping me abreast of her day and everything she'd been up to. They have been
