Situated just outside Wimborne, we are close enough to reach but have the benefit of being surrounded by idyllic countryside. The Cottage strives to provide a home from home experience and our staff encourage children's development and love of learning.
We offer convenient wrap-around daycare from 8 am to 6 pm, with 24 spaces available, term time. Holiday club runs for 2 weeks of the summer holidays for children aged 3 - 9 years old, with 16 places available. We found the care and attention that both our children received to be very good and the extended hours was a bonus.

Services
The 'Cottage' Nursery has been established for over 40 years. We are situated in the grounds of St James' First School, overlooking open fields, in the picturesque village of Gaunts Common 3 miles from Wimborne Town centre. Our aim is to make learning fun and the Cottage a great place to come to. This is a fantastic community environment working in partnership with the children, parents, staff and committee.
One-off payment of 10 non-refundable registration fee for all new nursery starters, this reserves the child's place and covers the administration and initial costs. Summer Holiday Club 25 daily rate We are open for the first 2 weeks of the Summer Holiday Club. We also accept government funding for 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.
We've been operating since 1974, initially as a parent & toddler group then gradually evolving over time into a comprehensive child care setting. We have always been based in the same building in the grounds of St James First School but in the last 5 years we have extended and refurbished the building, adding toilets and an extensive soft play surface in the garden.
Holiday club has been running now for over 10 years, for 7 weeks of the year. We are open from 8 am - 6 pm, Monday to Friday for children aged 3 years up to 9 (end of year 4), every half term, 1 week at Easter and 3 weeks at the beginning of the summer holidays. We often have themed activities during these weeks where children can do arts and crafts, bake, face painting and lots more.
