Services
If you normally pay for NHS dental treatment, there are three standard charges. The amount you pay will depend on the treatment you need to keep your teeth and gums healthy. You will pay ONE of three charges below. Some people may be able to receive free dental treatments, such as patients under 18 years of age, expectant and nursing mothers, or people on particular benefits.
A crown also known as a cap fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. It protects and restores a broken, weakened or heavily filled tooth. They are also used to improve the appearance of discoloured or crooked teeth. Once the tooth is shaped, we can take an impression (mould) of the prepared tooth, one of the other jaw, and possibly another to mark the way you bite together.
Bridges are ideal for people who do not like dentures and only have one or two teeth missing. The dental bridge is permanent and will be matched in colour to your other teeth so the appearance of the new tooth is natural. Bridges are usually made by crowning the teeth on either side of the gap then attaching a false tooth in the middle.
Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy, while at the same time improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth. A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that will bond to your tooth to give it a whole new appearance. They will improve the appearance of the teeth that you have chipped, is misaligned or discoloured.
Dentures are removable false teeth made of acrylic (plastic) or metal. They fit over the gums to replace missing teeth. Gaps left by missing teeth can cause problems with eating and speech. Partial dentures, replace one or a few teeth. On rare occasions all the remaining teeth need to be removed and replaced.
