Turkish restaurateur, Faruk Gnay, and his Sheffield-born wife Ruth, welcome you to Lokanta in Broomhill where they are proud to present contemporary Turkish food, wine and hospitality. The couple ran a beachfront bar and restaurant on the Turkish Mediterranean coast before swapping the sunshine for Ruth's home city of Sheffield.
In Turkey, their love of good food and hospitality was shared year-round with locals and holidaymakers alike. Lokanta is Turkish for neighbourhood restaurant, and the aim at ours is to bring the best of modern Turkey to the table in South Yorkshire. There are two ways to eat at Lokanta; mix and match meze or classic restaurant style.

The takeaway meals for 2 are excellent value. Across 4 people, we had one meat and one vegetable based option, which was more than enough. A wide and varied selection of dishes, meaning there is something for everyone.
Food is full of flavour and I can't wait until my wife and I move to the area so that we can enjoy it more often.

Booked up as it was an eat out to help out night, very straight forward and glad we booked as it was fully booked. Starters arrived and thought they were great, the Calamari was super soft, perfect I thought. The Turkish bread was lovely with the prawn starter. For mains we shared a meat platter, more than enough food and already came with rice and potatoes, the sausage was amazing along with the lamb chop, the chicken was a little dry however everything else was fab. The lady we had serve our table was lovely also and attentive. Would definitely go back.

Take two boys 8,13 and two picky parents. Friendly attentive service. Fast kitchen. Fresh restaurant bread. Awesome snacks. Fresh inventive food. Tasty main meals and two happy boys. We really like it. We will go back. Great for families and friends. Unpretentious good value. One of our favorite restaurants in Sheffield and there are not many we think are good.

A Meze Restaurant that also does excellent Main Courses.
Two of us went there about 10 days back on a Wednesday night around 7pm. The place was previously Capille's Restaurant (never went there so not sure if the decor is the same as before). However the Restaurant is nicely laid out with wood floors and comfortable table seating arrangement. Spacious too with a bar area to right hand rear, and to the left rear a semi open plan kitchen.
The Menus were A5 sheets of paper but no problem as it was the contents of the menu we were interested in.
