Contrary to popular myth, Mark was not one of the original partners when the firm was setup in 1796. Having in fact jointed the firm in 1986, he was made Partner later that same year. Mark has in his time turned his hand to most areas of the law but currently specialises in Residential and Commercial Conveyancing.
Mark is married with two children and lives in the Matlock area. In his spare time he likes to keep fit by trying to play squash and walking (to the pub - weather permitting). He is also a keen follower of football and Liverpool F.C. Liz Garratt is a qualified Private Client Solicitor with over 11 years of extensive experience in all aspects of Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection Deputyship orders.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value
Rickards and Cleaver dealt with the sale of our mothers house during lockdown. They provided a first rate service and made the process very straight forward particularly as both and myself do not live locally. I would definitely recommended them for any conveyancing.

I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude for Mark and Beverley at Rickards and Cleaver who assisted me and my partner with out latest house purchase. I feel the level of communication, professionalism and support received by both colleagues is exceptional and they show genuine care about their clients. They were responsive to all my questions and emails and provide accurate information right the way through the purchase, keeping us updated and informed along the way.
The negotiation and sale process had some unexpected complications imposed by the seller, and the team handled it professionally

We used Rickards and Cleaver to write our wills. Elizabeth was really helpful. She provided a very friendly, sensitive service. She took time to explain things clearly, describing the consequences of our decisions and giving great information and guidance. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will return next time we need legal help.
