After having worked in many areas of the industry Kim specialises in her biggest passion, Gents Hairdressing. I went into hairdressing straight from school, training in Ladies Hairdressing, Gents Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy & finally my Teacher Training giving me over 28 years experience to date! I always look forward to welcoming clients into our home!

As a result we are always striving to provide our clientele with the latest techniques and professional products. Nichares was established in 1979 and had continued to grow to be a thriving salon based in the heart of Taunton! When we have discussed our salon we knew we wanted to be different, we didn't want to be another clinical white salon with staff trained like robots! We don't follow the crowd and we are proud to do what we do best with the people we love around us! Just think of us as one big family where anyone is welcome.
Kim, our experienced qualified barber (and owner of Nichares) has been cutting mens hair for 27 years. She is also a trained barber teacher so you can guarantee an excellent haircut. If you are early relax reading a paper or magazine. The open space in the Lounge is perfect for gents. Our clients have told us our top of the range super comfy barber chairs are worth the visit alone.
We are very proud about the high level our Team are trained to together forming a wealth of experience. Everyone at Nichares is either learning or educating at all times! That scary word that we don't want to pronounce but also really like the look of? We've got you! Hairdressing is a fast changing industry so we believe there is no time to be complacent.

Nichares is a very professional salon with a dedicated team who listen and really care about your results and experience with them. I have been a regular client since moving to the area about 3 years ago. Their service is fantastic! Such a friendly, welcoming and talented team. The salon is beautifully decorated with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I look forward to my visits as I know my hair will look amazing every single time. Highly recommended!

Had my hair done by Olivia, who was super friendly and did an amazing job, from colour to cut to style. The salon is beautiful inside and has a lovely friendly atmosphere. All the staff are very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly from start to finish. 11/10

If you've got curly, grey unruly hair I would definitely recommend a visit. Very, very happy with the last cut and lowlights. Xx

I booked a consultation with Beth online after looking at her work, it was super easy to book online too. The consultation was thorough, she listened to what I was after and wrote the price, broken down for me on a card. A few days later I booked my appointment, again online. Both times I arrived at the salon, I was greeted straight away and was offered refreshments too. Beth delivered what I asked for and more. Can’t wait to go back! 🤩

I’ve been to Nichares twice now in the past half a year and both times I was welcomed with a warm smile by Cameron and offered a drink. On my first visit I had Lucy look after me, of whom was lovely, I felt comfortable and was able to keep a conversation flowing. When I visited on Wednesday I was seen by Beth, her service was astounding and I can not fault her in the slightest. I came home happy with my hair both times, without forgetting how smooth and fresh it felt afterwards. Definitely will be going back!

The professionalism from all the staff at Nichares is outstanding. The knowledge and skills are amazing and the results speak for themselves. I’ve never been in a hairdressers so incredibly beautiful, open and airy and meets all the new standards of covid safe environments. I feel very safe in there. I’ve had hair treatments to help improve the condition of my hair from previous over bleaching from a previous hairdresser and my hair is now amazing. From the senior stylist to the apprentice Amy I can’t recommend them enough!
