Shaws Of Darwen
A traditional English company that's been using the same time-honoured techniques for well over a century. When Arthur Gerald Shaw founded Shaws of Darwen way back in 1897, the local clay was brought to the factory at Waterside village, by horse and cart from the local coal mine, Belthorn Colliery, located in the rural heart of North West England.

Fashioned by workers who grew up within walking distance of the factory, it was expertly made into beautiful sinks that graced some of the finest kitchens in the region. Fast forward some 120 years, and our sinks are now sought by international buyers and designers to grace homes of all different types and sizes in locations the world over.

Excellent quality British made products let down by a distribution system that takes 3 days just to process an order for a rubber matt and then a delay caused by DHL who failed to collect. In the 21st Century a rubber matt that is in stock, should be able to be ordered one day and received the next, and if DHL let you down then stop using them and use a parcel company that value your business. Ordered on 15th June and expected to arrive on 28th June, item in stock, should have taken a couple of days. Shaws order processing needs a complete shake up to make it efficient to compete with other companies

We purchased an Entwistle sink to replace an old sink (more than 25 years) on which the glaze had worn away (not from Shaws). The new sink looks lovely, particularly the sculpted front.. Delivery and packaging were very smooth. It is, of course, too early to comment on durability (we did buy a 'Sink Grid' protector at the same time),. But top marks for aesthetics.

Lousy customer service if anything goes wrong !! So if you are willing to let go of your investment in case anything goes wrong buy from them, else look somewhere else. Not a good way to invest in their costly products if they cannot fix if somethign goes wrong.
