Here at Burton Pre-School Playgroup, the children are our priority! We recognise that all children are individuals so we provide flexibility to enable all children the opportunity to thrive.

At Burton Pre-School Playgroup we provide a curriculum supported by the EYFS this guides the development of children's capabilities with a view to ensuring that children in our care work within the EYFS ready to benefit fully from the opportunities ahead of them.There are seven areas of learning and development that shape the educational programme at Burton Pre-School Playgroup.

Successful cooperation between parents and practitioners is important because it also has an effect on your child's development. This is why we encourage a culture of cooperation, continuous exchange between parents, carers and practitioners. Tapestry Online Learning Journal - Tapestry online learning journals allow you to view your child's observations and photographs from their time at Teddybears, almost as they happen!

Our work has one clear focus: your child's individual needs. In order for us to support your child's development in the best possible way, the staff play a huge role in providing the support. Our staff team are all qualified and experienced in working with young children. They all attend regular further training courses, which enable them to bring new ideas to their daily work - ideas that will also benefit your child!

We have enjoyed exploring the story 'The Biggest Hole in the World'. In the story Charlie, his Dad and Doggo the dog are at the seaside. Charlie decides to dig the biggest hole he can in the sand, then suddenly he falls in. We follow as Charlie and Doggo travel through the different layers of the earth tackling pirates, dinosaurs, bugs and sea creatures in the oceans.

Going to school for the first time is a big event for children. Visit the school before your child starts, schools often provide opportunities for parents and children to visit. Even though your child may not remember where everything is, at least the journey and teachers will be more familiar on their first day.
