The Old Printing Office in the heart of Llandovery offers a wide range of gifts & the caf serves quality food & drinks. This collection features fabrics and designs that combine to create highly detailed and quintessentially British quality outerwear. The name Lazy Jacks originates from the sailing fraternity, they are ropes used on yachts and boats to assist in sail handling and as we started.
Services
The Old Printing Office is a family run business in the heart of the beautiful market town of Llandovery, Carmarthenshire. The building dates back to the 1700s and housed one of the first printing presses in Wales, producing historic tomes such as Brutusiana, an example of which is on display.
The surviving printing press machinery was donated to the National Museum of Wales and can be seen on display from time to time in St Fagans and other heritage centres. We've been open since 1977, and have recently expanded so that we could open the caf, which has outdoor seating overlooking the garden.

Howell Whitney, our picture framer, provides a comprehensive service to get your work of art or personal mementos displayed beautifully on your walls. His workshop is a treasure trove of frame and mount-board samples. He will work with you to decide on your style and finish and give you a quote and a timescale for the work to be completed.
We are the sole agents for Dyfed Cleaning Services for the Llandovery area and offer a complete and competitive range of dry cleaning and laundry services. Just drop off your items into the shop and we'll arrange the rest. Collection and delivery days are on Tuesdays and Fridays which means we can offer a quick turnaround.
We're always on the look out for local artisans and manufacturers and wherever possible we support British manufacturers. A recent example of a British manufactured product is Orchard Toys range of educational and completely affordable games and toys. Its not just us that have noticed that these tick all the right boxes, everyone seems to think that their games are innovative and they regularly receive awards and 5* reviews.
Our philosophy is to only serve a few seasonal meals each day, along with a selection of cakes and desserts made by us. Vegetarian food features in equal measures to meat based dishes, using the most local and most ethically reared meat available and we try hard to cater for those with gluten free or dairy free diets.

Really lovely little coffee shop. The glass roof lets in tons of natural light so even on rainy days it feels like you're sitting outside...except you're warm and dry and cozy.
The drinks are great but the home made cakes and slices....absolute heaven. Best date and ginger cake I've ever had (and by a country mile). So good I'm happy to drive the 50 mile round trip to have it again.
Lovely staff who are happy to go the extra mile and the prices....super reasonable. Great place

Smaller, quirky establishment. The food is delicious, whether you are a vegetarian, or not. It's great value and plentiful. Cakes are delicious, there's even a little shop and chocolatier too. Extremely hard to fault. I guess if you are a larger group you might struggle to find space, but that's it really

The Old Printing Office in Llandovery is a mix of shop with craft type products with a cafe and garden to the rear. Much bigger than it looks from the outside. The menu is cafe style with a special line in crumpets with toppings. The glass roof let’s lots of light into the main cafe area. We both opted for the broccoli and almond soup. It was a generous portion with granary or sour dough bread. The latte was good as well. A pleasant place to drop in for a light bite.

Best accidental discovery I've ever made. Lovely, lovely café hidden away at the back of the shop. Lovely, decoration. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Great facilities. Helpful and cheery service with a smile. Wonderful, refreshing menu with a great selection of delicious sounding dishes steering away from the "standard" cafe fare. Nice to see… something a bit different. Great coffee and by far the tastiest lunch I've had in a long time. My friend, who was with me, agreed! Wish I'd had room to sample the cake which looked equally delicious. That will have to wait until next time! Can

This has to be one of my favourite places in Llandovery. It's a perfect place for gifts and little bits. Beautifully curated collections of things that make you want to buy the whole shop!
The cafe is excellent with a wide variety of items and so tasty too. Was a little confused why the menu was only written on the wall, but its a very small thing.

A reasonably priced, Welsh Gift shop. It sells soaps, bags, children's toys, Welsh cook books, chocolates and a good range of greetings cards. It also has an attached clothes department.
At the back is a gem of a café with of good choice of well cooked food and cakes. You can have a very tasty lunch here with moderate sized portions, chosen from a blackboard. It will also service a morning or afternoon, tea and cake trip. In good weather, you can sit in the garden terrace.
