The Wellwood Guest House, is a Victorian Manor House built in 1881. It is a C listed building within the Pitlochry conservation area and was the home of the Mitchell family until the 1940's. Most of the building details are original and still in working order including the wooden, shuttered sash windows.
The grand staircase and the cornice mouldings throughout the ground floor, are in themselves works of art produced by craftsmen in a bygone era and worthy of note. The Wellwood is set in two and a half acres of woodland grounds and, with its elevated position, enjoys panoramic views along the Vale of Atholl and across to Ben Vrackie - the Pitlochry mountain.

Very elegant. Very sumptuous. I felt myself sink into the bed. To be lifted gently from a slumber by the sweet foreplay smell of frying sausage which preluded the most elegant breakfast I’ve encountered in a long time. One small point I did raise with the master of the house involves the unsavoury issue of plant based milk. We seemed to be on the same page however. I will be coming again.

Place was freezing they basically refused to put the heating on I explained I have severe asthma and will get ill in this temperature and they still weren't bothered just kept saying they live in this temperature we got a refund from the male owner who was more sympathetic but his wife who was awful demanded half back the second she realised so we had to spend an hour trying to find another hotel before we went to the Enchanted forest absolutely ruined our trip away which was my birthday treat. The place was weird from the moment we stepped in the door asking for our driving license number?! Don

We were three couples spending a long weekend in Pitlochry and its surroundings, and stayed three nights at the Wellwood House - and we can all highly recommend it!
It is run by a wonderful couple, Peter and Bakyt, who have recently renovated the charming guest house in the most tasteful and well composed way. Each room with its own exclusive touch.
Wellwood House also holds a charming breakfast /dinner area with a great view over the village, church and the beautiful valley.
The house has a charming old garden and is peacefully located just a two minutes’ walk from the main street of Pitlochry
