The Chelsea Gardener
The Chelsea Gardener opened in Sydney Street in 1984 and was established by the second generation of the Fenwick family. In the late 1930s, the family had established several nurseries in and around Essex and it was here that they developed their knowledge and passion for outdoor living. Realising that London needed a one-stop shop to help people create the best of their outdoor space, no matter how limited in size, they took over the large site at Sydney Street that was once part of The Brompton Hospital.

Great selections for both indoor and outdoor plants. They do keep them in good condition, also reflected in the pricing understandable given its rental location. Nice shop also for Xmas decorations/trees/wreath making etc over festive seasons. A dog friendly cafe attached to it as well run by the same business.

The Chelsea Gardener Cafe
A lovely, tranquil spot away from the (nowadays relative) bustle of the King's Road that serves an eclectic range of sandwiches, rolls and pastries and very good (and generous) smoothies- served in cut glass tumblers. A perfect place for a Chelsea pit stop. (The cafe is part of the Chelsea Gardener centre).

I love this place, especially at Christmas time when it is literally a holiday wonderland. One can pick up tree, wreath and all the trimmings in a one stop elegant garden shopping. And the staff chivalrously carried my tree and waited for me to find a taxi. You never get service like that anymore!

The one downside, and it is a biggie, was that the Christmas tree I bought from them was dried out in a week. And yes, I had it in a stand with plenty of water (I have had Christmas trees before so I do know the routine to keeping a tree's long festive life). So that makes me wonder how long the

A lovely place in a wonderful neighborhood. The Chelsea Gardener is a beautiful place to pop in even for people not having a real interest in plants: the ambiance is calm and cosy, the catalog pretty good, the shop assistants very helpful and nice. I am not a very keen gardener, but when I went there in their sales period I couldn't help but buying £300 worth of plants and flowers. And it felt good. :) In other periods of the year it might be a little pricey, though, but much less than what would be expected in these extremely rich surroundings.

This is a lovely little oasis set within Chelsea which me and my mum found one day. The staff are very helpful and friendly and they have some beautiful plants. They also have a great range of gardening accessories as well as some lovely garden furniture. Apart from anything else this place is quite nice to just have a wander around if you are in the area and looking for somewhere different to go.

An little oasis in the centre of Chelsea, The Chelsea Gardener is a lovely spot for a bit of green inspiration. While my own green thumb is still developing, I love popping in here and wandering amongst the gorgeous plants, trees and flowers - the selection is quite impressive. The store is also located next to the Chelsea Farmer's Market (another personal favourite destination).

One quip is the delivery charge they impose for all deliveries, even very local ones. I've been deterred from ordering larger - and already quite expensive - items from here more than once for this reason

The Chelsea Gardener is an exquisite centre on Sydney Street that sells plants and flowers and it's charm is that it's a local business. Inside is very bright and very green, there are lots of plants and dried flowers on sale and they have a tropical room as well, where the orchids and bonsai trees are. Prices can range from extremely expensive to quite reasonable. I once bought a bonsai tree for a mere £14. The staff really know their stuff and are really helpful and it makes a really nice change from Homebase or B&Q, because there are people who have worked there for years, who
