Many people take for granted the fact that they have a bed to sleep in, a sofa to sit on, wardrobes to hang their clothes in, a table to eat off; but the fact is, many people are without these basic items in their home. Spencer Contact is organised and run by local Christians who desire to express God's love to all people by meeting needs and enhancing their lives.
We work to relieve those in poverty and hardship in and around Northampton by supplying free second-hand furniture. To do this, we collect furniture and household goods that are no longer required and then supply them to people in need, after making sure they are cleaned and in good condition.

Services
We are collecting furniture, though we apologise that there will be a few weeks delay before we can come out to you as we are very busy. We are specifically in need of most items of bedroom furniture as these are requested most frequently. Please ensure that all items are in a good reusable condition.
We are collecting furniture, though we apologise that there will be a few weeks delay before we can come out to you as we are very busy. It is important you provide a telephone number as we are unable to make appointments via email. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4:30pm. A good donation is something that is unbroken, complete, clean and useable.
Our monthly budget is around 10,000 and, with charges for delivery covering just 10% of our costs, we rely on donations and grants from Charitable Trusts, businesses and private individuals. A gift of 60 would pay for one tank of fuel for our delivery vehicles, helping us to collect from and deliver to 80 homes.
As per Government advice, Spencer Contact is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of customers, staff and the general public which is a priority in the current climate. It is with regret that we have taken the decision to postpone all our sales. We hope to hold them at a later date, which we will announce on our website and Facebook in due course.
If you are in need of support with furniture and household items or wish to refer someone to our service, please give us a ring on 01604 587589. You will need to ring us as we deal with all appointments over the phone and we don't have anywhere open to the public. Please be aware that we can't always help straight away but our phone line will be open between 9:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

I applaud charities that help the needy and my feedback is based on the company not the work that they do, I have tried 3 times now to donate a king size mattress and 3 times i have been told somebody would be round to collect it, initially somebody came round and left a card but they did not come on the day arranged, they came the following day, when i was at work, I have rang and re arranged twice now but not seen or heard from them since, very dissapointing.
