Services
I run a portrait studio and gallery in Reading, Berkshire which I am proud to say has now been established 36 years. I operate from a Grade 2 listed building with a purpose built studio, gallery and workroom built on the side. In recent years I have added an outdoor studio which is very popular during the summer and autumn months.
How long does the photo session last? I give everyone 1 hour. Sometimes a full hour is required particularly for large groups or if young children and babies are nervous or upset. For small groups and individuals it can often take 30 - 45 minutes. Please therefore arrive promptly at the arranged time.
Professional headshots are extremely important when it comes to things like job applications, business ventures, social media presence, portfolios etc. It certainly gives you an advantage over someone who uses snapshots taken by themsleves, a friend or family member. Over the last few years this side of my business has grown steadily and its something I offer at my studio or on location.
In today's competitive business world it pays to invest in excellent photography in order for you to stand out from the crowd. An investment that will pay for itself many times over. I can capture company events such as parties, presentations, staff photos and special occasions. For individuals I can capture Birthday parties, Christenings, Bar Mitzvahs etc. Basically all important milestones we experience during our lifetime.
So on the wedding day I'll be almost invisible, just capturing the day as it unfolds without directing, setting up or posing. Of course I'll do some formal groups and some portraits as I still regards these as being very important. I love photographing weddings (the proof being that I have shot over one thousand of them!) and still have that excitement and buzz before each one.

Neil delivered another set of gorgeous wedding photos. The first commission was for a very large wedding. This time due to coronavirus it was an extremely small wedding! In between times Neil took wonderful photos of the new borns!
Sorry we cannot highlight the best as they include children and private family members. Neil has that knack of capturing 'the moment' that encapsulates the spirit of the occasion.

We were very pleased with the whole experience of the studio session and resulting family photographs. As a group of eight adults and four infants, Neil was excellent at accommodating and arranging us throughout and keeping the attention of the young ones. The quality of the photographs was brilliant with both the colour and monochrome versions. I would thoroughly recommend this studio to any family considering a similar photo session.

Neil did such a fantastic job of my wedding photos! When I received them my cheeks hurt from smiling, they captured the day so well and he did such a lovely job of getting everyone who was there which is exactly what I asked for.
I had been very apprehensive about a photographer, it was the one thing I was nervous about, knowing very little other than wanting amazing photos. Neil was the best choice, he was great to work with, making it stress free and really listening to make sure he captured what we were after. I also got them back so quickly and every single photo to use as I want.

Neil photographed our wedding back in 2009 - what can I say, I still look back at the photos regularly, he captured the day spectacularly well. The photos are absolutely amazing, we have two pictures enlarged, framed and hanging in our house (which Neil did for us) and every single person who sees them comments on how fantastic they are. On top of this, Neil is the loveliest guy, you warm to him immediately and have a laugh with him. It's a wonderful quality to have, considering he was the person shooting a very special day in our lives!

As a keen photographer myself, I took some time to find the right person to capture my own wedding. Neil Palmer had the best portfolio of work in the area and plenty of experience. After meeting him, knew he was the right man for the job.
Throughout the day he was almost invisible, didn't intrude on our guests and yet managed to capture a wonderful photographic documentary of my wedding day. Having gotten to know him after our wedding, I can say that Neil is a committed and passionate wedding photographer. He would literally put himself in any situation in order to get "the shot". Highly recommended
