Conker Conservation
Conker is a small family business established in 1999 to concentrate on creating truly sustainable, energy efficient, durable buildings. We are chartered building surveyors and certified passivhaus designers with experience in designing new buildings, refurbishment, extension, conversions and conservation of historic buildings. We work on a wide variety of domestic, commercial, industrial and conservation projects across the south east, and have been fortunate enough to win a number of awards for our work.
Services
Our offices are located in the heart of Canterbury in Stour Street above The Cycle Store at the junction of Beer Cart Lane. Both Canterbury rail stations are within 10 minutes walk, high speed rail to London via Canterbury West takes 55 mins. Nearest car parking is Castle Street multistorey car park.
Founded by Angela and Paul Mallion in 1999 Conker is dedicated to sustainable building design. We design to the highest standards of thermal efficiency and airtightness, using a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques. Paul Mallion is a certified Passivhaus Designer. We will not use materials that are harmful to the environment or humans.
As chartered building surveyors we have a wealth of experience with existing buildings, including historic and listed buildings, in residential, commercial and education sectors. We apply our sustainability ethos to existing buildings- we will not use materials that are harmful to the environment or humans; we minimise the use of petrochemical products, plastics and other polluting materials.
Adjacent is a brief guide to the process we have found that makes for a successful and stress-free project. This may vary slightly from the traditional RIBA or RICS Plan of Work, but it suits the higher standard of detail needed for our projects. Consultations are designed to gain an understanding of the project and advice required, and enable us to prepare a detailed fee quote.
