We are a family-run, unique barn wedding venue in beautiful Northumberland. We pride ourselves on giving couples a truly unique wedding with the option of a one-day or three-day celebration, offering the freedom to enjoy the venue and surrounding spaces their way! Doxford Barns is an award-winning barn wedding venue nestled within a private 550-acre country estate, along the Northumberland coast near Alnwick.
The Threshing Hall is the jewel in the crown at Doxford Barns. Dating back to the 18th century, we have lovingly restored this traditional stone and oak barn to create a striking setting for romantic barn ceremonies. We have retained the Threshing Hall's original character including its solid oak frame, hand-carved stone walls, grand fireplace, exposed balcony and flagstone floor.
The Great Barn sits at the centre of our barn wedding venue and provides the perfect setting to host your wedding breakfast. The Great Barn can cater for up to 180 day guests, followed by evening entertainment capacity for up to 250 evening guests. Views from the Great Barn overlook uninterrupted rolling green meadows, which creates a beautiful backdrop and adds to the charm of this highly impressive space.
The magnificence of our barn wedding venue includes impressive outdoor spaces, which are perfect if you are looking for outdoor wedding ideas. The beautiful scenery at Doxford Barns includes corn fields, a vast lake, farmhouse lawn and the green spaces laid out in front of the wedding venue itself, where you can choose to host your reception drinks, relax with champagne and toast the happy couple.
The Morning Room has been designed to give our couples another luxurious and calming space to prepare ahead of walking down the aisle. In a room that affords plenty of space, our interior designer has chosen a contemporary design that delivers a luxuriously tranquil ambience with statement wallpaper by Harlequin Sumi that reflects off the magnificent mirror, whilst a pop of colour cleverly balances the sophisticated muted tones in the room.

I performed here with my band Boys of Brass tonight. It was a rare Sunday evening wedding gig, and our first at this venue. It's a top place all round! Nicely under an hour's drive from Newcastle where we are based, it looks good. Of course we were working, not enjoying the venue as a punter. However, the staff (and the DJ!!!!) were absolutely spot on, and nobody made our job difficult at all. Should we get the opportunity to go again, we absolutely will do so.

We were at Doxford barns for my niece's wedding October 2021. We stayed at the cottages on site which were of a high standard, comfortable bedrooms, a fully working kitchen and nice clean bathrooms. The wedding venue was fabulous with stunning countryside views. The food was excellent, totally delicious. A good bar, maybe just a little pricey but that would be expected at such a place. The staff and service was also excellent, it couldn't be faulted We stayed from Friday until Sunday, the whole weekend was just perfect. Congrats to Amy & Tom and thank you for letting us share your wonderful wedding

We had our wedding at Doxford Barns on 19th August 2021. From the initial visit, to questions during covid the team were so attentive. We had a 3 day wedding, nothing was too much to ask or the team. My husband and I got married at Doxford Barns in early March and the experience was what just what we dreamed of and more. We had a 3 day wedding allowing our closest family and friends to stay with us and enjoy our wedding as a whole weekend.
From the minute we arrived, the staff looked after everything with a genuine love for their jobs, we didn't feel like we were 'just another wedding party'. From the beautiful venue, to the delicious food and fabulous accommodation, we loved everything about Doxford Barns and only wish we could go back and do it all over again!
