I bought an Afghan rug from Yashar Bish earlier this year. As I was very impressed by the quality of the rug and the service, I recently purchased another Afghan rug, this time a rather elegant Vegetable Dyed Kilim. The rug arrived at my house in Japan earlier this week and although it was posted by my family beforehand, it was securely wrapped up by Yashar Bish ‘ready to go’ Now it brightens up the tatami-matted living room. Thank you so much. Jason

Went to see if l could find a rug for my living room. Owner very helpful and l took one home to see if would look right. Unfortunately if was not quite right. Despite not buying a rug in the end l would still recommend a visit as they have a fantastic range to choose from.

I bought this beautiful rug on the web and it arrived in a couple of days. Great service. I'm now planning a trip to Brighton so I can visit the actual shop. Monty the cat loves it too!

I absolutely love the stuff in this shop. All sourced from central Asia and the Middle East, they sell rugs, glass lamps, and cushions, as well other bits and pieces like jewellery, tea glasses and mugs. It's all so beautiful, I have been eyeing up in particular some hand painted ceramic mugs they have which are a vibrant turquoise. Unfortunately at £7.95 each I can't quite bring myself to buy one. They also sell some gorgeous Afghan jewellery that isn't that expensive, and would make fantastic presents for people who like interesting ethnic jewellery, because this stuff is

Staying on a home tip, Yashar Bish is a unique shop that sells distinctive rugs, carpets and furniture from Turkey, Central Asia and the Middle East. Everything is lovingly sourced by the owners on their travels and the stock ranges from deep colours to rich patterns. If you've already got your floors furnished, they also sell a small selection of wooden cabinets, drawers, throws, blankets, cushions, photographic prints and Eastern lamps.

Yashar Bish is a little pricier than other import shops in the area, but for good reason. This shop focuses mainly on textiles; with an enormous and colourful selection of rugs, cushions and blankets beautifully displayed.

Other items include home décor, such as lamps, mugs, candle holders and wall art. Stock is sourced in from Asia Minor, Central Asia and the Middle East, resulting in a unique selection that stands apart from surrounding import shops. I was drawn to the mosaic art from Turkey as well as the Afghan wall hangings, and will likely return.

I wish I knew what Yashar Bish means- I should ask next time I'm in the shop- because it sounds lovely and lovely to say. The all-around loveliness extends to the shop itself, the whole place is filled with Maroccan and Turkish objects that manage to look rugged and intricate, sturdy and delicate at the same time. The colours are rich reds, greens, dark blues and tarnished silver. I often go in to admire the bold jewellery in tarnished metal and semi-precious stones- most of the stunning chunky but pretty necklaces are only about £10. I also go to imagine transforming one of my own rooms
