Michaela qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1994 (achieving a top ten place in the country). She enjoys going to the gym, shopping and cooking. Michaela is married with two teenage boys.
Established in 1924, Bourne & Co opened its first office in Burton-on-Trent, and quickly built an enviable reputation for supplying clients with quality accountancy advice and friendly customer service. In 1982, Bourne & Co opened its Derby office, following the acquisition of accountancy practice Pearce & Jackson.
We are currently looking to recruit an A Level school leaver for the position of Apprentice Accountant to work within our Burton practice. The apprenticeship will involve studying initially for the AAT qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians) and then progressing on to study for the Chartered Accountancy qualification awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
The government is set to implement its Making Tax Digital (MTD) initiative, which it hopes will create a 'transparent and accessible tax system fit for the digital age'. As part of the regime, taxpayers must move to a fully digital tax system, with businesses and individuals required to register, file, pay and update their information using a secure online tax account.
