Hi, I would like to say I have been using Avenue Taxis since I live in Ipswich (5 years), and even though it was always more expensive than the competitors, they were friendly, always on time, and very helpful.
Today, I asked for a Taxi at 12:50, I had an appointment at 13:00.
The Taxi driver was 4 minutes late, and when he called me I told him "I am here, next to {{a shop}. You're late".
He drives down the street, stops next to me with the window open, and tells me "You are rude, I won't take you" and drives on not even giving me a chance to say anything.
I lost my appoiment, and had to call

Turned up AT LEAST 15 MINUTES LATE (got text saying taxi was en route 15 mins after it was supposed to have arrived), despite knowing I had to catch a specific train (they even asked for the train departure time) and giving them their required 30 minute allowance for delays etc. Was told traffic was bad because of a football match. So?! They should be there at the time I ordered it, not any time after that at their choosing which they didn't seem to understand! There is never a taxi available in the mornings even if I have called an hour in advance.
Not reliable at all. I'm better off with their competitors.
I need to travel everyday to work in the morning. I guess I will take my business elsewhere - Avenue has just lost a lot of potential business.
Its not only me, I saw an old couple waiting for a taxi outside doctor's surgery and they were waiting over an hour for their taxi, the husband pleaded but it fell on deaf ears. How awful is that? I really hope they didn't complain but they should have.

Having booked for a taxi several hours before my requested and booked pick up time, the taxi arrived over 40 minutes late. So what is the point in booking a pick up time if they are not going to make that a time to work around. Apparently the control room having taken the booking then do not allocate a driver until the time required by the booking so any traffic delays then cause the booked time to be missed . So I repeat what is the point in booking a time for pick up? This is the 3rd time with this company they have been late

I ordered a taxi In plenty of time to go into town. I needed to be there at midday , the app told me 6minutes. The taxi turned up half an hour later . Women on phone said that they cant guarantee. Surely then the app needs looking at. Also after reading some of these comments below, I've been having the same experiences ie phone not being answered. Ever since covid taxi companies are letting us down

In the space of one week we booked two taxis with them. Our first taxi, we had explained to them that it was essential that we had it on time as we were heading to the train station, but didn’t arrive for around 20 minutes which resulted in us missing our train. On another day we then booked again, since we had had previous good experience with them and it might if just been an anomaly the other day, we phoned and asked them to re assure us that the taxi would be on time since the other hadn’t been (we had another train and didn’t want to miss it (again) ) to which they confidently told us

I booked this taxi firm to take my 15yo daughter from the station to a sports centre. The office were on the ball, and gave a price up front, they were professional and caring.
When the train got in earlier than expected and she rang requesting an earlier pick up, they were obliging, despite limited warning.
They also texted my daughter with the cab colour and licence plate and car make an rang her when the cab arrived at the station.
I felt really safe entrusting my daughter to their care, and will definitely use them again. I would highly recommend Avenue Taxis Ltd. Thank you.
