Arrogant, slow, tone-deaf customer service for over-priced, dysfunctional products
I bought their $300 waterproof jacket (Swiftwater) a few weeks ago. In a recent rain shower, I took it to walk the dog. I arrived home soaking.
I emailed Filson customer service, assuming such a famous brand would stand by their products, given the very high price.
… It took 3 emails and 4 weeks for someone to even respond. When they did, they said this:
"The Swiftwater jacket was designed to be an “emergency” rain jacket. It was not meant to be worn for extended periods of time but rather you

Filled with a bunch of hipsters who have never spent a day in their life in the outdoors or put in a hard days work. Don't waste your time driving to their store. Drove two hours to visit and was unable to try anything on. When people are going to drop some coin they better be able to try things on.

I had purchased a pair of the dry tin 5 pocket pants a few months back. They didn't fit right and decided to try and exchange them for a different product. Both the sales associate Nick and Manager Anna did an outstanding job helping me with the exchange. I traded the pants in for a 48 hour tin cloth duffel bag with no questions asked. Some of the best customer service I've had with any purchase anywhere. I look forward to buying other products in the future!

They should call this place 'Dude'son. Virtually no women's section in their store. When I asked, they unapologetically said 'yeah, it's not our primary section' or something to that effect. My husband tried on several coats but decided to wait on buying. On our way out the guy said 'Thank you SIR!' (I guess women are invisible). In reality, I should thank them... I went down to Bridge and Burn and found a gorgeous green waxed cotton coat for half the price and same quality.

I've been a Filson fan since I bought a beautifully tooled double buckled belt. It started there. The quality of their products is uniformly excellent, and their lifetime warranty really means lifetime. Filson stuff can be very expensive, and one does not always get the feeling that something like a $38 t shirt or $55 baseball cap is as laden with value as some of their other products. Today I thought I was just looking -- buy myself an indefensible ball cap - and I ended up buying a new rolling suitcase.

Fantastic experience at the store. I've been admiring Filson products for years but not wanting to order online for some weird reason. Finding a store in Vancouver while exploring the city was a perfect way to spend 1.5 hours trying many things on. Thanks Bernie for your patience and amazing service!
