Services
We believe that everyone deserves great quality food, served with kindness and care. We exist to make a tangible nutritional difference in people's lives. We do this through serving School Food Plan and Food for Life compliant meals in 54 of Southampton's nurseries and schools whilst also delivering hot, nutritious care meals into the homes of vulnerable and elderly adults across the city.
Even if we aren't advertising any positions, we'd still encourage you to register your interest, so that when we do, we can contact you. City Catering Southampton employs over 250 staff, the vast majority of which operate in our school kitchens across Southampton. We are always looking for enthusiastic people who can work over the lunchtime period to help prepare and serve lunches to pupils at our schools.
We are advocates for accessible holiday provision for all - and work hard to support our schools, for free, during the school holidays to ensure families who may otherwise go hungry, can access nutritious meals. Our #LunchCrowd initiative sees us working in collaboration with activity partners by opening our school kitchens at free-to-attend holiday clubs, to serve free, hot nutritious lunches to families.
City Catering Southampton provides special diets for pupils with medical conditions and allergies, who want to enjoy a school meal. Please note that medical evidence of the allergy is required before a menu can be adjusted. All of our menus are nut-free; this means all children with nut allergies can enjoy a school dinner without having to register for a special diet.
A balanced and tasty menu incorporating the food group legislation laid down by The School Food Standards is sent to all Primary School kitchens from City Catering Southampton. This takes into account favourite dishes, season, dietary considerations and the introduction of new products. Your Head of Kitchen then has the responsibility to order, prepare and serve the dishes on the menu.
