I'm a portrait & wedding photographer and I live in Sherburn-in-Elmet, Yorkshire, with my wife and daughter. I've been shooting weddings for about 10 years now, all across Yorkshire. I'm lucky enough to work all over the rest of the country too. I love to see new places and meet new people, discover what connects them and I love to tell their stories through documentary photography.
For most of the day, I work in a completely natural way, no posing. No feeling uncomfortable while I set up lighting. I want the real moments & the real connections and relationships between you and your guests. Captured authentically, as they happened. Mark's work is absolutely stunning and we have the most amazing collection of photos to show for a fantastic day.

I love meeting people and hearing their stories and taking their photographs. I spent 10 years travelling the world doing it. Now, home is about half way between Leeds and York in a village called Sherburn in Elmet with my wife and manager, Fiona and our 3 year old daughter. She's everyone's manager.
I like my wedding photography to tell a story. I aim to capture a little bit of that story in every image. By using composition, framing, exposure and timing I capture every emotion and moment on your wedding day. In the spirit of telling a story, my wedding photography portfolio, although not all shot at the same wedding, starts in the morning, with the bride getting ready.
Whether you're looking for a fine art portrait of yourself or a loved one to hang above the fireplace for generations to come, or a fun shoot of the kids playing with the dog in the woods, you're in the right place. In the studio in Sherburn in Elmet, just outside Leeds, we can cater for all types of studio shoot from a single sitter on their own to couples, children and even pets.
Until my own daughter was born, I don't think that I truly appreciated how fast children grow up! One minute they are crawling around, the next they are up to their ears in all sorts of mischief. It's great to be able to capture it all on phones - my phone is always telling me there's no memory left because it's full of photographs.
I like to include an engagement shoot whenever I'm booked to photograph a wedding. For me, it's important because it's a great chance to get to know you a little better before your wedding day. I also get to see how you are in front of the camera. It's important for you too because you get to understand more about how I work and get to know a bit more about me.

I cannot recommend Mark highly enough following our daughter's wedding. Mark is a friendly easy going chap who put everyone at their ease and managed in consequence to capture so many great images. Almost as importantly was his ability to blend into the background and not try to take over the wedding. We now have a super collection of images and a beautiful Wedding Album to treasure. Great guy and great service.

Mark was absolutely fantastic. From our first meeting with mark we felt very comfortable and able to relax - exactly want you want in a wedding photographer!
From our engagement shoot to our actual wedding everything with Mark ran smoothly - He was very professional, but also friendly, and even turned up to shoot our wedding day an hour after his first child was born!
We received our wedding pictures within days of returning from our honeymoon and they were fantastic - all 900+ of them!
So many of our guests commented on how excellent the pictures are and how good Mark was on the day.

Mark was a brilliant photographer and we are extremely happy with our photographs. I'm not keen on photos of myself usually so the idea of being photographed all day was not something I was particularly keen on. Mark put us at ease as soon as we met him and the engagement shoot (included in the price) was a great way to introduce himself to us properly. On the day Mark fitted in perfectly, chatting to myself and guests and making me forget there was a photographer there which was ideal. Mark has an informal style and was there until late in the evening which resulted in some great dancing shots

Everyone always says this line, but we actually can't recommend Mark enough. From the first meeting at our home, we just felt so at ease with him and this is coming from two awkward turtles who hate having their photo taken! The engagement shoot which was included in the package (which we were both quite nervous about for the awkward turtle reason above!), was fabulous. It was a chance for Mark to get to know what it takes to get us relaxed in front of the camera, and meant we were used to being natural in front of him too. The photos were gorgeous and just got us both super excited for the big

After researching many different photographers for our wedding, we were recommended Mark by a friend who had also recently booked him. Mark offered an amazing package, which was more than reasonable in comparison, and was also a local company. The package included a pre-wedding shoot, in a location chosen by ourselves, and which Mark was more than happy to travel to. We were able to discuss the style of photos we were after on our Big day, which also gave us an opportunity to understand what was required of us. As a couple where neither of us are comfortable in posing, Mark was extremely friendly

Mark was an absolutely fantastic photographer! He was there for the entire day - starting with getting ready and all the way through until the end of the Reception. He captured so many little details of the day, and was great at getting the best out of everyone (he is also great with kids!) The photo booth he offered was a great laugh, and a lovely contrast to the fantastic posed and candid shots from the rest of the day. He also offered a free engagement shoot, which was a great way of getting to know him and to get used to being photographed. Would recommend him to anyone - he is brilliant!
