I went here tonight for my parents anniversary. Amazing from start to finish! The staff were very friendly, professional and accomdating. I wasn't expecting to have much choice being gluten intolerant but nearly everything on the carvery was gluten free. The chef even went our his way to make gluten free gravy and Yorkshire puddings for me.
The staff were amazing. All very attentive, friendly and professional. The food was very nice especially the ham on the carvery and the gluten free carrot cake. The whole place had a really friendly warm vibe, made even better by the fact the chef himself came

An excellent venue in all things. My bowls club had a day out at the Rose 'N' Bowl. The green was in excellent condition & great to bowl on. We started the day with breakfast which was nicely cooked. We then played a tournament which lasted the whole day (which I won😁) then had the carvery. Most of us had the 3 course meal which was excellent value. The food was stunning. The meat just fell apart & the vegetables were nicely cook. All the food was the best I had eaten at this sort on venue in a very long time. I certainly will be going back soon & taking my family with me. The staff were friendly

The carvery here is to die for - huge portion size, high quality and super tasty food, all for a reasonable (actually quite cheap) price, served by smiling friendly staff - northern charm is in full flow here. In addition to the carvery, a full menu is available, wide variety and all very tasty (the rag pudding in particular is to die for).

Great friendly atmosphere typical of a northern pub, with many events occurring throughout the week.

This place has everything. Really. I mean, if I told you that this year it held the World Gravy Wrestling Championships you might be surprised, given that Stacksteads isn't normally associated with World Champion anything. But that doesn't even begin to describe what this place is like.

You can people watch all night in here. You will see peroxide mullets that you last saw in the eighties. The people in here may not always be the most fashion conscious, but they know how to have a good time. They have had some great acts on in the evening and they always go down well.
