Like comparison sites, we get paid commission by the insurance provider for selling their products so you don't pay us a fee for shopping around to get you a good deal. Unlike comparison sites we have specialist expertise and can give you advice on the products that best suit your needs. On comparison sites you might not find cover for things - like income protection or critical illness - that need to be tailored to suit your needs.

You also won't find special or bespoke cover on there, so if you want to insure something unique like a high-value antique or a collection, we will know where to go. If you need to make a claim, we speak to loss adjustors and claims departments and do as much as possible for you so you don't have the hassle and worry.
Services
At Starlane Insurance we offer separate buildings and contents insurance or combined policies. We take time to understand your insurance needs so that you get the cover that is right for you. We don't offer soft toys or giveaways instead we're proud to offer our customers competitively priced insurance and a great service.
We can insure non-standard builds, both in terms of construction and properties which use non-standard building materials such as thatch roofs or timber frames. This need not make life any more difficult than it already is. Our Specialist Advisors are familiar with all types of non-standard policy and in finding competitive quotes for just such a situation.
For high net worth individuals, off-the-shelf policies simply fail to deliver adequate cover. However, bespoke should not mean outrageous cost. Our Private Client team specialises in arranging and administering policies which fit your lifestyle at a price that fairly reflects the value of your home, its contents and your claims history.
We arrange a presence in your company to assist your valued employees with bespoke insurance services, ensuring that the have the appropriate cover for their lifestyle. This service is for clients for whom we have been invited by the owners to work within their company each month.

Insurance is one of those things where you get your renewal a couple of weeks before it's due, you take it to work with you with good intentions of phoning around or looking online for the best deal & level of cover. This gets over looked everyday until the renewal day for which you then do it with the same company as you have no time left to look around.
In today's fast-changing business landscape, the insurance needs of Small Businesses (SME's) are not simply a case of one size fits all. So, whilst many of these businesses are owner-managed (like ourselves), making sure the appropriate level and focus of cover is in place is vital. You don't want too much - but you need enough.

I would like to write a complaint...
A few weeks ago there was a storm and so much rain that our ceiling started to leak quite a bit. We contacted Starlane about 20 times trying to get the insurance sorted and organised, sending photos, quotes etc.. People were terrible at getting back to us and I am shocked with the lack of support. Starlane has now said that since the storm was not over 60mph, we would not be able to claim the insurance, even though our quote from a roofer states it was the storm that caused it.
This is disgusting. This is the first time we have claimed anything and I just

My partner was the executor for his late mothers’ estate and had overlooked the fact that the house insurance renewal date had just passed. He wanted to obtain an alternative quote on renewal to see how competitive the existing policy was and thought that perhaps he had missed the boat. Steve French firstly assured him that he was well within the period where he could give notice to the existing insurer which was Barclays and that he could tell them they could see the certificate of insurance if necessary and that he would be entitled for the payment which had just been taken to be returned.
