We are a contemporary photographic studio in Bournemouth, Dorset, established in 1995, offering all aspects of photography including Portraiture, Wedding, Advertising, and Product Photography. Our vastly experienced, formally trained and qualified team are very passionate about photography and strive to produce the best for all our clients and to make ourselves a centre of excellence for photography.
Paul Brook studied at the prestigious Arts Institute, Bournemouth, and Sinar in Switzerland. As well as a degree in photography Paul also has his professional qualifying examination (PQE) from The British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP).
Paul opened the studio in 1995 and built the business up to be a successful high street studio, establishing his style as a contemporary portrait and wedding photographer as well as in advertising and editorial.In 2002 the studio expanded and started photography seminars. The seminars were aimed at the keen amateur looking to develop their hobby into a full/part time business.

With over 15 years' experience, we here at First Point Photography understand and appreciate how important and special your wedding day is to you. We are all certificated professionals with professional indemnity insurance. We offer three digital packages, keeping our coverage simple and affordable, but with no compromise on quality.
On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to enrol on a Level 3 Diploma in Photography, either through First Point Photography who will be releasing a Diploma course early 2020 or any other approved training centre offering the qualification. Students are welcome to spent two weeks work experience with us in our studio.
Our 10 day Advanced Wedding and Portrait Photography course has been designed for the keen amateur to the improving professional who is looking to develop their photography skills into a profitable business. The first 5 days of our 10 day Advanced Wedding and Portrait Photography course is a combination of our 3 day Portrait photography course and 2 day Wedding photography course.

Excellent Photography Training
I attended a Level 3 City & Guilds Award with First Point in November 2020. I arrived a novice and left confident in my abilities within the art of photography. Now months later, emerging out of our COVID lockdown, the foundations given to me by First Point Photography have put me on the start of my new career. There is always something to learn and this was a highly enjoyable learning experience delivered by Paul, Alice and the team.

I have just done the two week advanced Wedding and Portrait course and II definately recommend it. If you want a practical hands on course that teaches you what you need to know to get up and running as a small business, without more academic stuff than necessary then this is for you. At the end of the course you will get a City and Guilds assured crest to go on your social media, which helps you stand out from the crowd. Lovely people, nice relaxed atmosphere. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I did a 3 week course in Advanced Wedding and Portrait Photography + Digital Manipulation with First Point Photography earlier this year. It’s fair to say when I walked through the door I was a novice but by the end of my 3 weeks I had learnt so much I felt confident enough to throw myself into my own photography business. I’ve just booked my 20th wedding and I wouldn’t have been able to do so without all the progress I made whilst at First Point Photography.

I would like to take the time to add a review on first point photography, this studio is great, well put together and very professional for all your portraiture needs. The staff are very nice and happy to help whatever your needs. The wedding photography is second to none and they even now include an additional photo booth service if and when required.
I attended one of there courses and in particular the 15 day wedding and portraiture course, it was absolutely fantastic, really insightful and helped me prepare for a potential career In professional photography.
