I'm proud of Andrew Lever Goldsmith Ltd - it's been in business for 20 years. I've now worked as a Goldsmith for nearly 30 years having served my formal apprenticeship in Manchester city centre. I took a gamble and opened this shop in Heaton Chapel, Stockport in 1994 on a hunch that I could make customers happy with great design led pieces of jewellery at affordable prices, offering a service which isn't often encountered anymore.

I took my diamond/platinum ring here for repair. After waiting many weeks and leaving numerous phone messages it was returned to me 'repaired'. I kept catching the clawes on everything. I returned to complain. I'm not sure what he did but it didn't make any difference. I haven't felt I could wear it through fear of loosing the diamond. Today I took it to a jeweller in Cheadle. He informed me the diamond had been set in the wrong way, the repair was done in white gold and the clawes were so poor I risked loosing the diamond. This is a very old Victorian ring. I’ve been going to his shop for around 15 years for repairs to my jewellery most recently a 27 and a half inch long chain which was broken in two places I new how long it was because I measured it before I tuck it to the shop to see if I lost any it. cut a long story short I picked it up it did not feel right I measured it and there was a inch of the chain missing! I call him next day to ask why is there an inch of chain missing only to be met with an WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT! down the phone then an excuse of I damaged about 5 links when repairing it. I said why didn’t you tell me
