Whitehill Dental Care
Despite news stories suggesting otherwise, dentistry is not back to "normal". Due to continued restrictions on our PPE provision, imposition of fallow time following any aerosol generating procedures (water spray), social distancing rules, increased levels of post treatment decontamination etc. etc. we as a profession are still where we were in Autumn 2020.

We are still unable to provide routine dental exams and routine hygiene therapy (scale & polish) and only dental "problems" are being addressed. Routinely we are exceeding the requirement by government to see 10 patients per day per stood up surgery. In our case that is two surgeries or 20 patients.
Services
Any treatment offered (either NHS or Private) will be estimated, discussed and agreed with you in advance. Many adults over the age of 18 have to pay. In Scotland, NHS charges are set by the Scottish Government. If you have to pay you can ask your dentist how much it will cost before your treatment begins.
If you're happy with the shape of your teeth but don't like the colour, then Tooth Whitening may be for you. Over the course of time, the natural whiteness of the teeth can fade and our day to day lifestyle, habits and diet can have an impact on the colour of the teeth. Many of us drink tea, red wine and coffee on a daily basis and this can gradually stain the teeth; smoking can also have a significant impact on the colour of the teeth.
Whitehill Dental Care offers a full range of NHS general dental services. The practice also provides a range of private and cosmetic treatments such as tooth whitening. All patients are taken on as NHS patients. New patients are always welcome and all patients are taken on as NHS patients. If you wish to register either drop in or phone and explain that you wish to register as a new patient.

I've been to many dentists over the years and Mark is definitely at the top. He an excellent dentist, makes me feel completely at ease, explains his approach and always listens. He has an excellent manner, very understanding and sensitive to his patients needs, all of which results in building trust. I really wouldn't want to go to anyone else now. Provides me with a 1st class service.

I have a great dentist who is very friendly, but the receptionist is really very rude. I know we're in a pandemic but the snarkiness really isn't helpful.

I was a patient here from the ages of 7 - 18, had absolutely no problems and even enjoyed my visits, then moved to Edinburgh for university and registered at a new dental practice. I've just been refused an emergency service to cover a cavity entering my nerve canal, caused by a lost filling, from them because I've registered elsewhere since last seeing them. I explained that my current dentist can't fit me in till the new year and that the gap is being filled with debris when I eat, exacerbating the condition requiring root canals, and rather than empathy received a slavish adherence to bureaucracy
