Screatons Ltd is a family-run firm of accountants which has been operating in Atherstone for 30 years (previously as Screaton & Co). Meet the team. Neil began working at Screatons as far back as 1991 to help his dad and earn himself some pocket money. After going to University and spending a year in France he ended up with a Masters degree in translation and not long after set out on his accountancy qualification.
Directors of limited companies are obliged by Companies House and HM Revenue and Customs to produce accounts every year within a 9 month deadline. Statutory accounts can be very complicated and time-consuming to prepare and are often rejected when items are missed out. Screatons Ltd can prepare accounts at very competitive rates and ensure that they comply with all necessary regulations and contain all the necessary disclosures.
At Screatons Ltd we believe that producing a set of accounts from your books and records is only half of our job. Equally important is ensuring that our clients are claiming all of the business expenditure that the law allows them to. Although the tax office will offer to assist you in completing your tax return they will not necessary tell you about all of the things you are entitled to claim which is where we as accountants come in.
Starting a new business can be daunting but Screatons Ltd can guide you through the process, registering you with HM Revenue and Customs for self assessment, CIS and VAT if necessary. We help lots of new businesses every year so we know what information you'll need to get started and give you advice on all aspects of running your business.

There is only good things that I could say about Mr. Screaton and Screatons Ltd.
I have been doing my accounts with Screatons Ltd for the last 6 years and I have always been very happy with the services they provide. Initially a good service however several months business bank statements(18 months) were sent out via Royal Mail then lost in the post? Not even an apology despite the close proximity of their office to my address. The second criticism was more serious as I was advised to fold my Ltd Company and close my business bank account when I took on a paye job. Fortunately I declined this advice and stopped using Screatons as an accountant!
