Services
Photocast started life 1988 as a small zinc etching plant with assorted bench tools and the smallest of paint spray booths. Our main business was in producing etched and painted plaques and name plates. Over the next few years the business stared to grow and in the early 90's we added Historical Interpretation panels, Blue Plaque Schemes, and Golf Course Signage.
Don't forget to visit our online shop where you can buy any of our standard products or even create your own bespoke plaque using our Design Tool. ARTCAST takes your photography, wording and vision and transforms them into a visceral, tactile, multilevel story telling montage. Drawing on our 30 plus years of experience, we use cutting edge technology to innovate the pattern making and casting techniques, bringing an unrivaled level of detail and accuracy to our products.
The London Blue Plaques scheme helps to link people from the past with buildings they have lived or worked in. Currently run by English Heritage, the scheme has been running for over 140 years and is considered the oldest scheme of its kind in the world. There are around 900 plaques throughout the capital that display the history of the city.
Braille has been developed into a large set of alphabets that includes almost every language in the world having its own form. When creating braille and tactile signage, we always use the relevant braille language to help the visually impaired to read signs with touch.

The Disability Discriminations Act states that ".physical changes and adjustments to buildings that allow access and information, should be made to all buildings by 2004.", which is why we think it is so important to create signage using braille wherever possible.
