Since launching in Tokyo in 1977, at Yaccomaricard we have prided ourselves on our immaculate attention to detail, on creating clothing that breaks the constraints of the conventional and that is crafted to last in a world that can sometimes feel too fast. Formed by a design collective of three friends, YACCOMARICARD began in 1977 as a fashion project in Harajuku, Tokyo.

In 1994, Kari moved from Tokyo to study Theatre Costume Design at the London College of Fashion. After his studies he decided to enter his family's fashion business and his first task was to introduce the brand to Europe by opening the first UK Yaccomaricard store on Kensington Church Street in 1998.
Each and every of our garments' journeys begins with the vision of our dedicated design department who are based at our Tokyo head office. The brand ethos that was established over 50 years ago is devotedly adhered to, to this day, and our masterful team ensure that, year after year, our customers are delivered thoughtfully designed pieces to complement the lifestyles of women across the globe.
All of our garments, from the initial concept through to end production, are created in house. Part of this process is carried out by our highly specialised patternmakers who enable the translation of the design vision from a single prototype into the shirt delivered to our customers worldwide.
Patternmaking is considered a form of art due to the highly complex nature of manipulating a flat piece of fabric to conform to the curves of the human body.At YACCOMARICARD, the fit and movement of each garment has paramount influence during the creation process due to our longstanding belief that wearers need pieces that fit and compliment their lifestyle.

Cotton jersey is an easy to look after material with natural stretch that lends itself especially well to the contemporary silhouettes. Katsuragi, a denim weight cotton, is often used in the production of our trousers and jackets. It softens with age, lending itself to an authentic, lived in look. The discovery, development and selection of superior fabrics are fundamental in our mission for the highest quality clothes.
We pride ourselves in producing our garments in a privately owned factory based in Thailand. Having our own facilities allows us to ensure the highest quality of our products as well as the high standards of working conditions for our employees. We are proud of a precise pattern-making technique that allows us to retain elegance and balance in our generously cut silhouettes.
