My name is Linda Gartside and I am a Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor, based in Rochdale. I enjoy driving and meeting new people, so I thought I'd put them both together and become a driving instructor. I consider myself to be friendly, patient and welcoming. I don't shout or get angry.
Provided you have a valid provisional driving license you can start your driving lessons before you take your theory test. Thus, combining your theory study with the early part of your driving course. This gives you the added advantage of being able to consult me on various matters relating to the theory test and your theory study.
The theory test can be taken from the age of 17 and must be passed before a practical driving test can be booked. The theory test itself consists of two sections - a set of multiple-choice questions and a set of hazard perception videos. The questions will cover topics that include alertness, attitude, safety, road signs, and much more.
This DVD contains hundreds of theory questions, which are very similar to the questions you'll be asked in the test and cover the same topics. You can also sit hundreds of Theory and Hazard perception mock tests to help you fully revise. Plays on any DVD compatible device including DVD player, Xbox 360/Xbox One, PS3/PS4 and PC/MAC (requires DVD drive and suitable software installed).
The test must be booked in advance to guarantee availability. You must have passed the theory test before you can apply for a practical test. There is no guarantee of a pass but the course is structured to give you the best possible chance of passing the test. All courses must be paid for in advance to secure the booking and lesson slots.

I’m on cloud 9, I’ve just passed my driving test. Big big thank you to Linda. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor! She helped turn my nerves into laughter & I felt so at ease on my lessons. Passed first time with Linda, cannot recommend her enough for what she does. She settled me down and calmed me within the first few lessons and really made me feel at ease. She figures out what teaching method is best for you and really tries to understand you as a learner. I’ve had a great time driving with Linda. Thankyou 🚗🤗

Passed my test on 15/07/2021
It's been hard learning in the last year and a half with this pandemic. Linda put me at ease with my anxiety right from the start she is a great laugh and it's been fun learning with Linda .she is very professional and good at what she does . I will definitely be recommending Linda to my friends . I'm looking forward for my next lessons with her on the motorway see you soon .

What a fantastic day, finally got the result I wanted. Made easy with the help of the best driving instructor available! Fully recommend Linda to anyone learning to drive, Linda will make you feel comfortable from the very first lesson. She's patient, wonder fully to talk to and will give you the confidence to tackle your test. our lessons will be missed!

I have just passed my test with Linda! I was very nervous when I started learning but she very quickly put me at ease and made me feel super comfortable. Linda is not only a brilliant teacher but also a lovely lady to have a chat with as you're learning and I'll miss our lessons! I couldn't reccomend her more, thank you Linda!

I'm absolutely ecstatic. I've just passed my driving test first time with the amazing help of Linda. She supported me and believed in me. Even when I stumbled in lessons, she helped me gather myself and carry on with confidence. Her way of teaching was perfect for me and my needs. She is firm but fun to learn with and I always felt safe and comfortable with her.
Being an anxious learner, it was difficult for me but with Linda's help I've passed first time! I cannot thank her enough in helping me start this new chapter in my life and I'll be forever grateful

I've just passed first time with Linda!! She's an absolutely fantastic instructor who makes you feel incredibly comfortable. She recognises any anxiety you have and adjusts her teaching to relieve your anxiety and worries and always sees the best in you. I can't fault her at all and honestly I'm going to miss having lessons with her. Definitely a 5* instructor

Has lessons a few years ago with Linda which started off good but when her methods didn't work Linda lost patience and faith in me passing, thought it was okay to insult me and put me down, and lied about booking my test. Felt like towards the end she was just using my time for the money, not to help me pass.
Linda didn't help with nerves, always talking about being aware of other drivers on drink and drugs during lessons. Linda was so pedantic in her teaching it wasn't valuable, most of it was a massive waste of time and money. Would not recommend.
