We were founded by Andrew Duff in 1977. Andrew retired in 2015 and sadly passed away in 2018 leaving behind a well established and high regarded legal practice with 3 offices, 4 Directors and over 25 staff.
Our residential property team of solicitors and legal executives will work with you to minimise the stress of moving providing regular reports and ensuring that your interests are protected. We provide a competitive fixed fee service with no hidden costs, and keep you fully informed as to progress either by email or your preferred method of communication.
Our fees cover all of the work required to complete the purchase of your new home, including dealing with registration at the Land Registry and with the payment of Stamp Duty Land Tax (Stamp Duty) if the property is in England, or Land Transaction Tax (Land Tax) if the property you wish to buy is in Wales.
The advantages of using Scott Duff & Co to assist you in the administration of the estate after a loved one dies. Ensures those in the position of Executors or Administrators are adequately protected against claims and are fully compliant with data protection rules. Enables advice to be given in order to minimize potential tax liabilities arising out of the administration and distribution of the estate.
Your matter will be allocated to a fully qualified lawyer and, unlike some firms, we will not charge you a percentage of the value of the estate in addition to our fees. We charge only for the time we spend on the matter.
Our hourly rates are: 177 for Solicitors and Legal Executives; 200 for Directors, Senior Solicitors and Senior Legal Executives; and, 111 for any work carried on a matter by a Trainee Solicitor, Trainee Legal Executives or Legal Assistant.Once we have an idea of what will be involved we will provide you with an estimate of the costs in your matter and we will keep you regularly updated with regard to our legal costs as the matter progresses.
