A fully trained Japanese chef, Mr Kato is familiar with every aspect of truly authentic Japanese cuisine. He left Japan in 1986, firmly establishing himself in England before opening his own restaurant in the same year. Higoi is the only truly authentic Japanese Restaurant in Nottingham, offering probably one of the best menu's in England.

We offer a comprehensive assortment of all traditional Japanese food prepared in a truly authentic way. LENTON Boulevard might not be the first place in the city you'd head to for top-class cuisine, but sandwiched in between the kebab shops, Blockbuster and Sainsbury's Local is the frosted-glass frontage of Higoi. For many months now I have been intrigued by the tiny Japanese restaurant, wondering what lies behind its understated exterior.

Expensive and disappointed 😞. If you love Real Japanese food, the taste is far away from our expectations indeed even the waiter is Japanese politely guy.

Absolutely amazing experience. The sashimi was fresh and tasty, thickness of the sashimi was very good. The amount of food that comes with the bento box was a lot! Beverage prices are reasonable, not like some other rip off japanese restaurants. Definitely worth a visit!

Nice service and great food! Definitely try the sushi and sashimi dinner set (28 pounds including 12 pieces of sashimi, 6 pieces of sushi and 6 pieces of nigiri ( roughly) and dessert!!! Hot sake is also nice to try!

Absolutely amazing Sushi and Shashimi in beautiful.surrondings with excellent service. My only issue is that it has ruined sushi for me now because anywhere else won't be as good 😁 5 stars

Steak don was nicely flavoured but was way too over which made it really chewy. Sushi was OK but the snow crab tempura was amazing.

Great Japanese food and probably the best I had outside London (within the UK of course). Sashimi was fresh and I had a good time. It is unfortunately on the pricey side but it is definetely worth a try.

Amazing food! A mixture of good practice value set meals and more expensives dishes. Cosy little restaurant with pleasant staff and free parking around the corner after 6pm. I've been a few times and will always go back!

Expensive! poor ambience! Costs me 30 pounds for some ordinary maki and sashimi. The sashimi is sooooooo tiny and tasteless! unbelievable :( i was expecting more from this place because its unlike the normal japanese chain restaurant like YO! sushi, But the qaulity of the food is disappointing!
