Toppers is the brainchild of Co-Founders Lisa Cooper and Mitchell Gordon. They opened their hairdressing salon in 1991 with a view to transforming quality hair care in Ely. We wanted to build an outstanding boutique where indulgence, creativity and personal service combine to create a unique and harmonious experience.

At Toppers we aim to help clients to build their self-confidence, accentuate their beauty and enjoy life to the full. The philosophy has worked, for today Toppers is Ely's busiest hairdressing salon. Toppers Hair Design was established in 1991 by directors Mitchell Gordon and Lisa Cooper. Two decades on, the duo continue to develop a talented and experienced team of stylists and juniors to meet (and usually surpass) our clients' most demanding expectations.

Qualified to a minimum 'Advanced hairdressing' standard, our stylists are committed to a programme of continuous professional development - attending regular industry standard courses and training events to ensure we remain two steps ahead of the latest cutting, styling and colouring techniques.Each Toppers Hair Design stylist is committed to helping you in your quest for truly head-turning hair.

Our stylists will help you find a hair colour to bring out the best in your features and reflect your personality. NB It is our policy that every client has a sensitivity test for any colour services at least 48 hors prior to the service. For added volume, shine and control. Our specialised treatments from highly trained stylists will boost your confidence so that you feel good every day.

For my first and second visits Bobby did a fab job. When she went on maternity leave, Mitchel did a great job. my second visit to Mitchel last Friday was a disaster. to say he was scissor happy would not be an… exaggeration. From the medium length inverted Bob that we discussed - with an image - to the almost shaved at the back slope to the chin that I ended up with, it is nothing like I wanted and will have to wait 6 months to get any length back; I am now rocking an old lady look!Whether he was distracted by a member of staff who constantly required his presence or whether he just decided

Previously received great cuts here, but I can't recommend the color service. Requested a balayage with face framing babylights and left with stripey highlights that a coworker asked if I had done myself... Not exactly the look I was going for.

This is the the first time I have had my hair cut in 18 months since donating 12 inches of it to charity in 2017. I saw Steven (a member of staff on a trial period - I hope he stays!) and he was great and very chatty, made me feel at ease and very comfortable after not visiting a proper salon for 5+ years.
I can't remember the last time my hair looked and felt this nice and will not hesitate to go back when my hair next needs a trim.
