Emma Leonard Handcrafted Jewellery
I am a designer / maker based near the Bournemouth seaside in Westbourne, Dorset. I make jewellery inspired by mid-century fabric prints and patterns and the shapes you find in cityscape architecture. I like to imagine my work as tiny sculptures, adding pops of colour with hand-painted lacquers. I love seeing the angles where a stack of bangles cross and layer, or the contrast between polished silver and a flash of colour.

Mainly I like making jewellery that makes people happy when they wear it. When I'm not making my own designs I love to teach other people how to make jewellery. As well as making her own beautiful jewellery Emma has a natural talent for sharing her knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm with others. I learnt so much, made some lovely, wearable things, met some great people and had lots of fun!
Services
A variety of jewellery making classes and workshops are available whether you are an absolute beginner or have some skills you would like to develop. There is also bench rental available for makers who don't need tuition but do need access to equipment.

I graduated in 2001 from Sir John Cass Faculty of Art / London Guildhall University with a BA (Hons) in Jewellery, Silversmithing & Allied Crafts, and I have a PGCE in Post-16 Education from Southampton University. As well as making my own jewellery, I have been teaching jewellery making and metal work for fifteen years.
Option to use etching to create detailed patterns (these need to be arranged in advance due to the process used). A pair of simple wedding bands can be made in a day, with individual workshops per couple for one-to-two tuition. Prices start from 150 for a one day workshop (materials are extra as it depends what metal you're using).
