Services
Originally founded in Liverpool, the firm of Chalmers Wade & Co acquired the Yeovil practice of Fletcher & Bradford in 1922. One of the firms' most notable former partners was Anthony Wingham Chalmers (1847 - 1900) who as president of the Liverpool Society of Accountants in 1880 was a petitioner to Queen Victoria for the Royal Charter which led to the formation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
We are a firm of statutory auditors registered to carry out audit work in the UK by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. The professional rules applicable to our audit work in the UK are the Audit Regulations which can be found at www.icaew.com/regulations. In carrying out our audit work we are subject to the Code of Ethics which can be found at www.icaew.com/en/members/regulations-standards-and-guidance/ethics.
The preparation of accounts is at the core of services that we provide and we prepare annual accounts for all sizes and types of business from whatever books and records are made available to us. The format of accounts and the interpretation of financial reporting standards are complex. Also, HM Revenue & Customs in particular are insisting on more detailed and accurate record keeping.
Audits are an important part of financial reporting, providing valuable and reliable information on which important financial decisions can be made. Whether compulsory or voluntary, an audit is an opportunity to examine your business and identify ways to add value, to improve systems and procedures and to identify areas of risk.
Our payroll bureau offers an all round administration and processing service for both weekly, fortnightly, 4 weekly, monthly and other payroll periods using computerised Sage payroll systems. We ensure that you comply with all the statutory requirements, we carry out all the necessary calculations for PAYE, National Insurance, statutory sick pay, paternity/adoption/maternity pay and prepare the necessary payslips, summaries and reports.
