We were there for a family meal to celebrate our daughter's 40th birthday. From booking to the actual meal it was extremely easy. The party contained both adults and children and were equally well catered for.… Extremely reasonable and would certainly not hesitate to recommend to anyone . Thank you for helping us to celebrate my daughter's special birthday.

I thought it was gonna be amazing from the reviews I read but it really wasn't. I was quite looking forward to the Sunday roast as I haven't had one in a while. I won't say it was terrible because that would be a lie, but it certainly wasn't up to the standard. The beef was good size and nicely cooked, however, the rest was pitiful. The only explanation I can come up with for the Yorkshire puddings we were served is that an apprentice made them and nobody checked before sending them out. Same goes for the vegetables and portions. Without kidding, we each had two tiny roast potatoes, tiny bits of

I went to the Cochrane Inn last week for lunch with my Mum and Papa and we had a wonderful time. It was the first visit for me and my mum but my papa had been before and highly recommended it. We ordered our meal which arrived promptly and smelled delicious. The portion sizes were massive and tasted fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is lovely.

Great to visit the Cochrane inn in Kilmarnock for an evening meal with family and friends. They were great to accommodate us even though our party size was quite big. Service was superb; quick and friendly. All you can ask for.
I ordered the classic fish and chips which were a real treat. Dessert was chocolate fudge cake which was really nice. Atmosphere of the place is lovely and very cosey. It was quite quiet when we visited, but I could imagine it being maybe a bit cramped if it was very busy.
We all had a great time and would happily visit again.

The restaurant is pleasant with a relaxed atmosphere. Staff were pleasant but service was a trifle slow and they forgot one of the drinks.
Ordered mussels to start with, when they arrived they were tasty enough but about a third of them were not open. This would imply that they were not particularly fresh and that no-one is checking the food before it goes out, very dodgy where shellfish is concerned.
Main course was well cooked but portions were a bit small given the price.
A reasonable dining experience but the Cochrane Inn doesn't live up to the hype.
